For some of the best pokertips, look outside of the game for inspiration
This week's poker tips sermon creates a new COTH Psalm, relating to your dreams.
Your ambitions. What you are striving for. Why you want to be a winning poker player.
COTH Psalm #7:
Thou must pursue thy dreams to achieve the ultimate in poker salvation.
Some poker tips can draw on successful marketing from other places. Here's one I came up with recently from the Air Miles.ca website.
Give yourself something tangible to shoot for during your poker sessions. If you are familiar with the Air Miles promotional websites, their Dream Meter (snapshot above) is a great way to incentivise.
As you collect Air Miles, the Dream Meter fills up a bar based on the percentage of your dream purchase you have accumulated.
Do the same with your poker. There’s nothing like physical evidence of success to galvinise you to achieve more of it.
It may be as simple as paying your mortgage every month. Paying your college tuition fees. Or settling a long-term debt that’s been around your neck like a millstone.
What floats your Ark might be a giant plasma TV, or a holiday in a dream destination.
Write a dollar value for your personal target alongside your withdrawls total. Now you can see how close you are to your target, it will make you even more determined to plug any leaks in your poker.
Poker tips are all great in theory. I'd love to hear from anybody who has tried this Dream Meter idea and found it useful. Click here to write to Letters, Pray! (Page opens in a new window.)
Here endeth the lesson.
